GDIT is seeking a
Welder to help support the
CTII and GIC program in
Chesapeake, Norfolk, Newport News and Portsmouth areas in Virginia .
This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided. Must be a US Citizen Job Description: - Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other materials that require welding.
- Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders.
- Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
- Uses measuring instruments and hand tools to positions pieces requiring welding into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps.
- Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Participates in special projects, as required.
Requirements: - US Citizen
- HS/GED
- Technical or vocational training
- 5+ years of experience, including Pipe welding

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $19.84 - $25.30. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
