My name is Daniel Allen, Founder of the Chicago Cultural Performing Arts Media Alliance (CCPAMA). I am a retired Chicago Police Department law enforcement supervisor, community youth leader, and musician, singer, and songwriter. Founded in 2018, CCPAMA serves children, youth, and young adults through comprehensive arts-based programming that includes music, fashion, creative writing, performance, visual arts, digital media, and life-skills development. Since its inception, CCPAMA has established strong partnerships with community-based organizations, local governments, and law enforcement agencies to provide participants with access to concerts, museums, theaters, circuses, and other cultural experiences at premier venues. Our programs are designed to empower participants by engaging them in every aspect of arts production—from planning and management to creative development and live performance—while building leadership, teamwork, and workforce-readiness skills. CCPAMA’s mission is to reach adults and at-risk youth from low-income communities and help disrupt the cycle of poverty by providing referrals, supportive resources, and direct opportunities related to education, employment, housing stability, and personal development, including services for individuals experiencing homelessness. This VISTA opportunity is a full-time, five-day position, consisting of three days onsite and two days of approved, documented telework. The member must reside near the VISTA service area and participate in virtual meetings with organizational leadership as needed. We seek an energetic, community-minded individual with strong administrative, organizational, and marketing skills who is passionate about arts, youth development, and community impact. This role offers creative flexibility and the opportunity to help strengthen CCPAMA’s capacity through enhanced collaborations with community partners, arts organizations, schools, churches, and other local resources
Member Duties : AmeriCorps VISTA members will build the long-term capacity of Chicago Cultural Performing Arts Media Alliance (CCPAMA) by developing systems, partnerships, and sustainability strategies that expand community-based arts, youth engagement, and violence prevention services in West Garfield Park. They will strengthen organizational infrastructure by improving data collection, program evaluation tools, and volunteer management systems. VISTA members will support outreach efforts by developing marketing materials, managing social media and website content, and coordinating community engagement initiatives such as the Garfield Park Strong Community Family Resource Meetings.
