We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to join a hospital-based Central Sterile team in Syracuse, NY. The technician will be responsible for cleaning, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments and medical equipment in compliance with facility and national standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesDecontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays according to established protocols.
Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, washer-disinfectors, and ultrasonic cleaners.
Perform biological and chemical testing to ensure sterilization accuracy and equipment functionality.
Maintain accurate sterilization and equipment tracking records.
Restock, organize, and distribute sterile and non-sterile supplies to various hospital departments.
Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.
Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of sterile supplies.
Minimum 1 year of recent Sterile Processing Technician experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
Thorough understanding of sterilization techniques, infection control practices, and instrument identification.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) – Required, issued by HSPA .
AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required.
