Service Business Development Manager

The Services Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new service business opportunities through lead analysis, research and identification of potential customers, and exploring new and existing accounts.

Primary Activities/Duties :

  • Development and sales of service offerings related to Rittal products
  • Establish new business relationships via cold calls, presentations, and following up on leads for new business
  • Gain a detailed understanding of the customer’s needs as related to the products or services being sold.
  • Develop customer solutions, focusing on service offerings
  • Document service project scope and objectives, involving all stakeholders
  • Manage changes to the service project scope and costs
  • Participate in onsite/offsite customer visits as needed
  • Attain or exceed KPI metrics that are set for the position. Enter and analyze data in CRM software as required.
  • Provide forecasts and overall service sales strategy for assigned region
  • Prepare cost reports, inspection reports, and customer correspondence.
  • Partner effectively with the Rittal and distribution partner sales teams to achieve regional goals
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Rittal products, markets, applications, and distributor models.
  • Communicate opportunities, issues, and trends to management

Knowledge & Experience :

•             Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent experience

•             Prior experience in outside sales and/or service sales preferred 

•             3-5 years related experience

•             Experience using customer relationship management tools is preferred

•             Moderate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP R/3

•             Professional appearance, customer oriented, negotiation skills, and flexibility

•             Project management experience a plus

•             Willingness to travel 25-50%
