Position Overview:
The Senior Member Service Representative/Loan Officer is responsible for facilitating exceptional service to our members while helping them navigate their financial needs. This role requires deep knowledge of lending products, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to assess members’ financial situations and provide appropriate loan solutions. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to ensuring a positive member experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Member Service:
- Provide outstanding customer service to members and prospective members through face-to-face, phone, or electronic interactions.
- Assist members with account inquiries, product offerings, and resolving any service-related issues promptly and professionally.
Loan Processing:
- Evaluate loan applications, analyze financial information, and determine member eligibility for various loan products including personal, auto, and home loans.
- Conduct thorough interviews with members to gather the necessary information and documentation for loan processing.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to members on loan options that best fit their needs.
Sales and Cross-Selling:
- Promote and cross-sell the credit union’s products and services to enhance member relationships and support financial growth.
- Meet established sales goals and targets while maintaining quality service standards.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all loan applications comply with credit union policies, federal and state regulations, and lending guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and ensure confidentiality of member information.
Team Leadership and Training:
- Mentor and support junior staff members, providing training on member service techniques and loan processing best practices.
- Collaborate with team members to improve workflows and enhance service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in member services, lending, or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of loan products, underwriting processes, and credit analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and resolve conflicts.
- Proficient in using financial software and technology tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
