Manager Notes:

  • This position is onsite at WHQ and is filling in for someone on FTE leave. Candidates must be local to be considered.
  • There's potential for this position to transition into something permanent within the Jordan brand.
  • Former Nike experience a plus, but must have a passion or experience in design operations.
    This role will support DESIGN OPERATIONS.
  • Program and project management background would work well for this role.
  • Prior design experience with an operational mindset is a plus, or work in product development in sportswear.
  • Must have strong communication skills to work with graphic designers, color designers, product designers, footwear and apparel designers in the Jordan Basketball space.
  • Detail-oriented and be able to be able to visualize the plan for all teams across Jordan Basketball.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The nature of the work is focused on collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to the successful launch and ongoing management of our products.
  • Work closely with product managers, development teams, marketing, and other stakeholders to align operational processes with overall product strategy and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate activities across teams to ensure timely and successful product launches.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Implement best practices and workflows to enhance the overall effectiveness of product development and delivery.
  • Foster open communication channels between teams.
  • Ensure transparency regarding project status, milestones, and potential challenges.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings and reporting.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks that may impact product delivery.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop contingency plans and strategies for risk prevention and resolution.
  • Utilize data analytics to assess product performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Generate regular reports for stakeholders.
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance processes throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with testing teams to ensure that products meet established quality standards.
  • Work with customer support teams to gather and analyze customer feedback.
  • Integrate customer insights into product operations to drive improvements and enhancements.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers and vendors involved in the product development process.
  • Ensure that external partners align with project timelines and quality expectations.
  • Optimize resource allocation and utilization.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure that personnel and tools are effectively deployed to meet project goals.
  • Work with finance teams to manage project budgets.
  • Monitor spending, track expenses, and provide financial updates to stakeholders.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the product operations domain.
  • Encourage feedback, innovation, and the implementation of lessons learned from previous projects.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years directly relevant work experience
  • Ideally, 5+ YOE as a Product-focused Operations Manager (or Project/Program Manager focused on Products), coming from large-scale enterprise-level environments
  • Prior design experience with an operational mindset is a plus or work in product development in sportswear.
  • Must have strong communication skills to work with graphic designers, color designers, product designers, footwear and apparel designers in the Basketball space.
  • Detail-oriented and be able to be able to visualize the plan to all teams across Basketball.
  • Experience with Miro and Airtable preferred but not required.
