The Limited Term / Full Time Office Technician (Typing) will be directed by the Program Assistant on Program VII at the Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:
- Attend various meetings to take, type, and distribute minutes.
- Develop and maintain a system for filing forms and documents including electronic filing.
- Maintain tracking systems required by the program, including but not limited to Performance for Probationary Employee and annual staff Performance Appraisal.
- Complete and process various documents related to the operational function of the program, including, but not limited to, work orders and storeroom requests.
- Maintain and update all program manuals on an ongoing basis.
- Utilize hospital computer systems for entering data. Develop reports as requested by supervisor. Retrieve and route reports.

Working Conditions
- This position requires you to work within the Secured Treatment Area (STA).
- This position is limited term (12 months); it may be extended or canceled at any time.
Special Requirements
- The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
- The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
- The position(s) require(s) a(n) Proctored Typing Test with NET 40WPM Certificate. You will be required to provide a copy of your certificate prior to being hired.
You must submit a valid typing certificate with a minimum NET speed of 40 WPM that meets CALHR Requirements . Typing tests for certification must be 5 minutes in length and proctored either virtually or in person. Candidates that are current State employees in a typing classification DO NOT need to submit a typing certificate.
