Job Description



AbbVie is seeking an accomplished individual to fulfill the role of Data Foundation Manager within our
OUS Commercial division with a special responsibility on Ontology, Analytics solutions and Master Data
Management. In this pivotal position, you will play a significant role in defining and refining the core
principles of AbbVie's Data Strategy, encompassing processes, behaviors, governance and systems, with
a dedicated focus on understanding the specific data requirements of the company, the utilization of such
data, and its alignment with the overarching Data Strategy.


Primary Responsibilities:
The Data Foundation Manager bears the paramount responsibility of ensuring excellence of master and
performance data and the mastery of centralized analytics platforms hitting all commercial business
priorities reported by affiliates, areas and international teams.


Part of role’s responsibility is also to manage and govern the MDM platforms, in particular Product MDM defining universal structure and harmonized master values valid across entire commercial organization
and integrated into downstream systems whenever possible.


The role will lead multiple data related enhancement programs, including betterment of Analytics Platform
which will require coordination with multifunctional teams and contractors globally. The role demands not
only data expertise but also the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively across all
organizational levels.


Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert business input, requirements and advice to the Business Technology Solutions (BTS)
department on data modelling and representation to reflect business expectations and visualization
requirements

  • Produce progress reports and maintain stakeholder communication regarding the data governance framework
  • Review business processes and workflows to enhance data management with a focused view on
  • usability of the data and business priorities
  • Participate in designing the Ontology layer of AbbVie International data offering providing the business perspectives underlaying the data solutions and the demands reported
  • Ideate, design and coordinate governance model to orchestrate technology and business needs
  • Define demand prioritization model and clearly communicate with primary stakeholders and requestors
  • Inform releases’ scope and roadmaps of products assigned (Ontology, Reporting Layer, MDM instances and NGA platform) acting as Business Owner
  • Ensure full and smooth cooperation with BTS colleagues establishing transparent and trustful
  • relationship partnering with them on product management
  • Support the issue and problem solving processes on need, e.g. anytime a business and/or functional input is required
  • Be the primary point of contact and trusted reference for affiliates, areas and international stakeholders with regards to AbbVie data environment in their scope of responsibility
  • Capture requirements and business needs and help technology partners translating them into functional designs
  • Assure data processes are documented, understood and communicated effectively to international and local stakeholders
  • Define standards for entities and relationships within various business fields (e.g. customers,
  • products, business structure)
  • As a global data steward, define processes and governance for maintaining reference values of business entities
  • Enhance role of MDM, increase the ecosystem heading expansion of MDM interconnected processes and systems, empower perception of centrality and relevance on MDM in all stakeholders
  • Support implementation and success of main commercial reporting solutions and use cases with adequate data structure and reporting features
  • Collaborate with primary stakeholders in affiliates, areas and global teams to identify business data needs and translate them into formal business requirements and user stories
  • Establish, reinforce and optimize the Data Foundations and its principal features across all affiliates and stakeholders

Qualifications



Required:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in data operations, quality and governance preferably in Pharma industry
  • Expert knowledge in devising strategies, systems, processes, controls, and capabilities necessary to manage data quality
  • Extensive experience delivering data-based initiatives and the necessary business transformations
  • to achieve and sustain them
  • Proven competence interfacing with stakeholders across affiliates, areas, and global teams,
  • translating business needs into formal requirements and stories
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering required., Master’s degree in Big Data, Data Science, or Information Technology preferred
  • Experience with Master Data Management systems, development, processes, and operations.
  • Former experience working with CRM and sales data
  • Strong numeracy and statistical skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Ontology modelling, Metadata management, Data Architecture and Infrastructure
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Foundry, Power BI and QlikSense
  • Ability to read Python, R, SQL/T-SQL and PySpark code
  • Foundry platform knowledge preferred
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Superior problem-solving capabilities
