Job Title: Auto Repair Shop Service Manager

Location: Hill and Dale Sales and Service

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $1000-$1500 per Week

Job Summary: The Auto Repair Shop Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service department, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing a team of technicians and service advisors. This role involves coordinating repair and maintenance services, handling customer inquiries, managing budgets, and ensuring that the shop operates efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Operations Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department.
  • Schedule and prioritize repair and maintenance work to ensure timely completion.
  • Monitor shop workflow to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure that all repair work is performed correctly and meets industry standards.


Customer Service:

  • Greet customers and handle service inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Provide accurate estimates for repairs and maintenance services.
  • Communicate with customers regarding the status of their vehicles and any additional repairs needed.
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.


Team Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise service advisors, technicians, and other service department staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to improve staff performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork within the service department.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the service department budget, including labor, parts, and overhead costs.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve revenue and profit goals.
  • Review and approve invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring availability without overstocking.

Quality Control:

  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that all work meets the highest standards.
  • Perform final inspections on completed repairs to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor warranty work and ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements.


Vendor and Supplier Relations:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with parts suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms to ensure the best value for the shop.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in automotive technology or business management is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an auto repair shop, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and drive performance.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using automotive shop management software.
  • Valid driver’s license.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate to heavy items as required.


Work Environment:

  • Primarily in an automotive shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.
  • May require occasional travel for training or meetings.
